More Americans Depend on Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens

A charity running more than 200 foodbanks that supply food to over 46 million people says food inflation is making it tougher for Americans to feed themselves and their families. Data from one food bank in a major city shows “food insecurity has risen most sharply among households earning $100,000 to $150,000 per year.”

I don’t go to the grocery store very often, but when I do, I am astounded at the cost of basic items like a loaf of bread or a box of crackers. No wonder we have become a nation of Walmart shoppers. (I’m not knocking it; I am one.)

I am glad I live in a location with a low cost of living
