Hurricane Debby is going to bring plenty of wind, rain, and flooding along the East Coast.

There is a possibility that we will get some thunderstorms and heavy rain as the remnants of Hurricane Debby skirt us. Since we lose power an average of twice a month, any storm makes it likely power will be knocked out in this area. The heavier the storm, the more likely.  While we can now rely on our solar power, our local Internet service provider does not appear to have backups. When the power goes out, so does their signal.

This is my long-winded way of warning you that we may not publish a post on Friday. If that is the case, we fully expect to be back by Monday for our regular M-W-F post.

If we are absent, just think some doom and gloom thoughts and then come up with a plan to address them.

And for our friends on the South where the flooding is expected to be the worst, remember not to drive into water if it floods the road.

Update: The rain is barely reaching us as of midnight Thursday. Looks like the worst is yet to come.

The Pickled Prepper
Drawing on two decades of experience working with law enforcement and military personnel, Pete cuts through the noise to deliver hard truths about preparedness and survival in our fragile world. His belief in the preparedness lifestyle is so strong that he made the transition from the big city to an isolated mountainside homestead where he installed a solar power system, burns firewood for heat, and relies on a gravity-fed spring for water. Pete is an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, a USPSA range officer, and a former competitive shooter. Through the Pickled Prepper, he provides actionable, intellectually honest intelligence and no-nonsense advice on self-reliance and homesteading, self-defense, and surviving whatever lies ahead.
