The D1.1 strain of H5N1 Avian Influenza, which killed a man in Louisiana and sickened a teen in Canada, has now been detected in six cattle herds in Nevada.

It is not yet know how quickly, if at all, this potentially more dangerous strain will spread to other herds or to chicken flocks, to other states, or to humans.

Eggs continue to be in short supply as a result of the bird fluy. On my recent trip to Sam’s Club, they had only one variety of eggs and customers were limited to only two boxes.
