We finally reached the point where it was getting tough to live without a pickup truck. They are just so useful around rural property.

Our wood stove is cranking out the heat, keeping the cold at bay. The pile of red-hot coals generate the most heat while the logs that are burning brightly will soon be coals themselves.

Wind chills drop to the negative teens and we work on keeping the house warm and preventing our pipes from freezing.

We are enjoyed a white Christmas, which is both a blessing and a little but of a curse when you live on a steep mountain. This is the time of year when you wish you owned a snow machine.

Five month after we lifted our own, personal self-imposed quarantine, the rising rates of COVID-19 are causing us to withdraw from public once again.

As much of the North East was blanketed with snow, we weather our first winter storm in our new prepper property.

Our move is over but the unpacking will take days. We are exhausted, but the poor truck diver had a really bad trip.

The move is now 24 hours away and the house is a wasteland, with nothing to eat and no table at which to sit and eat. We can't wait to move to our prepper property.

Another day of pre-move errands, chores, donations, and packing, plus a quick update on COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccines.

It's a busy week at Pete's house as the move gets closer, COVID-19 gets worse, and he still needs a new truck.
