September 2 COVID-19 Report

COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to fall across the country, even though they remain well above the low points reached in June.  The country reported 4,027 new cases in the past 24 hours for a total of 6.09 million and 1091 deaths for a total of 184,564.

The New York Times reports that cases are growing in 12 states, about the same in 28 and are decreasing in 14.

Globally, there have been 25.79 million cases with 857,821 deaths.  We are likely to hit 26 million cases later today.  Russia has become the fourth country to exceed 1 million cases while India is averaging more than 60,000 new cases per day.
