I was going to write about how I think the Biden Administration shot itself in the foot when it implemented a whole series of executive orders and regulations that, unintentionally or not, hurt the economy, but I changed my mind. “Shooting yourself in the foot” implies they did it by mistake. I think it is much more likely that the Biden Administration and the socialists behind the scenes purposely knee-capped the economy.
That’s right, I think they hobbled the economy by design, to undermine capitalism, to hurry the transition to the world where we “own nothing and like it.” They don’t want small business to succeed and create more middle-class people who control their own fate. They want people to be powerless, to lose their savings, be forced from their homes, and have no choice but to turn to the government for support.
I think the current political regime is undermining the economy and tearing apart our society in an attempt to transfer power from the people to the government. The tyrannical leftists who have worked themselves into power are not satisfied being congressmen and women. They want more power, more control, and more money. The pandemic, followed by the election of a weak, easily controllable president, has given them a window of opportunity.
Donald Trump, whether you love him or hate him, lowered taxes and cut regulations, generating the best economy the U.S. had seen in years. We started making more oil than we needed for the first time in decades. The border crisis slowed to a manageable level. People had jobs and unemployment for minority groups reached new lows. Fewer people depended on welfare. Prices were low. It was a time of plenty.
Knee Capping
The Biden administration shut down the oil pipeline on their first day in office. Then they added new regulations and started looking for ways to raise taxes. There was a natural recovery after COVID-19, but the current administration did everything it could to knee cap it.
Let’s take regulations as an example: Truck drivers must take regular drug tests. There are not enough clinics, health care professionals, supplies, and laboratories to meet the high level of demand. As a result, truck drivers are prohibited from working. The administration could change that and give us more truck drivers, but they have not.
Let’s take mandates as an example: We are going to be losing about 10 percent of the workforce when the OSHA-required vaccine requirements go into effect. This is destroying the airline industry, which was weakened by COVID-19. They are causing some police departments to lose hundreds of men, after their manpower was depleted by the Defund the Police movement. EMS companies and 911 emergency systems are understaffed and at times unable to respond to calls, but mandates will see employees laid off. We have a global food crisis, but food workers will be let go because they are not vaccinated. Yet illegal immigrants flow in our open borders without a test.
Let’s take green energy as another example: The world is in the middle of an energy crisis, fuel prices are rising, heating costs are soaring, and companies are closing because of high energy costs, but the Biden Administration does nothing because the Paris Climate Accord, which was never approved by Congress, is more important to them than the health, safety and comfort of the American public. The Administration is not relaxing requirements, encouraging increased production or gas or coal, or lowering requirements for green power.
Reaping the Seeds of Destruction
The result of these polices? Far fewer people in the work force than there were under the previous administration. High-skilled knowledge workers and low-skilled manual laborer are leaving the work force and not coming back. Inflation is the highest it has been in almost 40 years. There are not enough people to unload container ships and not enough truckers to deliver goods. The Southern border is swamped and drugs and criminals are flowing into the county (two things we already had enough of). Since Biden was elected, we had another COVID-19 peak. We bungled the Afghanistan withdrawal, angering our allies and looking incompetent. China is no longer intimidated by our military power.
I am becoming increasingly convinced that this is not an error, but a plan. A plan to undermine and bring down what was a great nation known for freedom, liberty and opportunity. We were a country where you could start with nothing, work hard, and become successful.
That’s being taken away from us, and I think it is a big reason people are quitting their jobs: because working hard no longer produces the same results it once did. No longer are parents able to see their kids get ahead and do better than they did.
We are at a place where lawyers and doctors can’t make a decent living or pay off their excessive college loans, and we wonder why there are not enough doctors. People are living in vans and tiny houses because most of American can’t afford a traditional house. Yet they keep voting Democrat.
A Crippling Blow
The definition of knee-capping is “purposely maiming or crippling someone, often as punishment.” The people of the United States are being punished for our success by a small number of left-wing politicians and a large number of unelected bureaucrats who think it is unfair that capitalism creates winners and losers. Well, I got news for you: socialism creates far more losers. Instead of pockets of misery, it results in country-wide misery with a few pockets of elites.
Thank you, Joe Biden, Barack Obama and your democratic socialist friends for bringing us the dystopian socialist future no one wanted.
