This article explores a “survival ranch” that provides you and your family a place to go during a collapse. A membership is about $1,000 per person, per year. In addition to store food, they raise livestock and provide you with your own room. You can also vacation there before the collapse.

I am not a joiner, but this approach isn’t for me. I see problems with this scenario, such as what happens when you don’t get along with the hundreds of random strangers you’ve been lumped in with? Who is in charge? What happens if someone kills another member? Will everyone work together like happy hippies in a commune, or will there be lazy people who do nothing and expect others to cater to their every need? Still, it’s interesting to see the options that are out there for someone who doesn’t want to or doesn’t have the time to prep on their own.

Drawing on two decades of experience working with law enforcement and military personnel, Pete cuts through the noise to deliver hard truths about preparedness and survival in our fragile world. His belief in the preparedness lifestyle is so strong that he made the transition from the big city to an isolated mountainside homestead where he installed a solar power system, burns firewood for heat, and relies on a gravity-fed spring for water. Pete is an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, a USPSA range officer, and a former competitive shooter. Through the Pickled Prepper, he provides actionable, intellectually honest intelligence and no-nonsense advice on self-reliance and homesteading, self-defense, and surviving whatever lies ahead.
