The Marburg virus, which is similar to Ebola, is now active in both East and West Africa. It’s spreading more slowly than COVID did because it is apparently not transmissible through the air, but it is far more deadly, killing about 90 percent of its victims.
While not yet a threat in the U.S. or Europe, any prepper worth their salt should keep an eye on news about it because the virus has an incubation period of 21 days. That means a victim might be spreading the virus for weeks before they fall ill.
Our saving grace may be limited access to global travel from parts of Africa. Many of the protocols that turned out to do little against COVID, like wearing gloves and face shields, should be more effective against the Marburg virus because it is transmitted by bodily fluids and contaminated materials.
