Chinese Balloon Could be Dry Run for EMP Attack

This article in the Washington Examiner raises the question of whether the high-altitude balloon from China that floated over Montana is a dry run for a future EMP attack, calling such balloons a key delivery platform for such an attack. Now that the U.S. has publicized discovery of the balloon, China has a better idea of our detection abilities and possible responses.

This low tech delivery system could have some advantages over a missile in that it’s launch won’t be detected by satellites making it more difficult to identify its source.
