Russia Threatens to Attack NATO Airbases

F16 fighter jets like this may soon be deployed by Ukraine.

If the new F16 fighter jets that have been promised to Ukraine by various NATO members operate out of NATO airbases outside Ukraine, Russia will consider the bases to be “legitimate targets, says Russian President Putin.

Of course, attacking an air base in Poland or Romania could be the pin that pulls the NATO grenade, resulting in a broader war between NATO and Russia rather than the more contained war we have today between Ukraine and Russia.

Hopefully wiser heads will prevail, taking the Russian threat as a red line they should not cross. Of course, that assumes there are wiser heads.
