Stephen Miller, a Trump official, told Jessie Watters last week there is an “insurrectionist movement in the Democratic Party that is inspiring domestic terrorism.” He was speaking specifically about attacks on ICE, such as the ambush in Texas and gunfire in California.
Rather than lead from the front, the insurrectionists are people who say, “Fight, fight, fight,” and, “We want to see blood in the streets,” and then stand back and let their dupes do the bleeding. They are using their pocketbooks to fund agitators and fiery rhetoric to encourage people to attack ICE officers, threaten their families, firebomb facilities, and even try to assassinate the President or other officials.
Miller said, “The Democratic Party’s objective is to flood the West with millions upon millions of illegals from the developing world, from the poor nations of the world, the failed to states of the world, the collapsing states of the world, believing that in so doing, they will collapse the West, they will collapse the middle class, they will collapse the population that has lived here before the migrants came…
“What has it done to our schools? What has it done to our hospitals? What has it done to just traffic in our cities? Every issue that affects our quality of life, public safety, drugs, crime, education, healthcare—are all exacerbated, worsened and undermined by mass illegal immigration.”
It’s hard to disagree.
The Underlying Problem
In my opinion, the core problem is not immigration or how immigrants are being treated by different administrations; that’s just an excuse. The problem is that the elite, who are mostly rich liberal Democrats, are used to getting their way. Suddenly, they are running into roadblocks. Because of the election, the socialist society they were in the middle of building is being torn down. Instead of waiting four years for a new presidential election, they want to undermine, impeach, or outright kill the current president to stop his policies. They will do anything to get their grand plan back on track. A track that ends when the other 99 percent of us own nothing and are happy.
Just look at what actors like Robert De Niro and Roseanne Barr—people no one elected—have said and done. The virulent hatred they spew exceeds anything the other side said about Biden or even Obama. When the Republicans lose, most of them sit on the sidelines and make the best of it, biding their time. When Democrats lose, they break down, panic, and want all the rest of us to rise up in a revolt on their behalf.
None of them will lift a finger, except to write a check.
If we see an insurrection, it won’t be the elite manning the guns; they will convince or pay people to be their proxies. They will look to students at Ivy League universities and others who have been indoctrinated by the strident voices of upset liberals to make the physical assault on our institutions. These “useful idiots” will be the cannon fodder, the boots on the ground, that get arrested, teargassed, or shot while the elite pay their bail and cheer them on.
Violence Begets Violence
Violent riots and uprisings in one area often lead to similar activities in others. Some are no doubt copycat riots, while others are bought and paid for by liberal NGOs and similar organizations that receive outside funding from liberal elites. However, this may be less likely with ICE raids and deportation than it was with Black Lives Matter because as much as 80 percent of the country likes the idea of deporting illegal immigrants, especially those with criminal records. Frequent news from the administration highlighting how many murderers and child abusers it has arrested who were in the country illegally makes it difficult to generate support for illegals outside liberal cities.
However, the U.S. has a strong aversion to police brutality If ICE officers fight back and injure U.S. protesters, they could lose support among the citizenry. Arresting a Venezuelan who has raped two children is seen differently than beating an American citizen who spray painted an ICE vehicle. While this hasn’t happened, you can bet the useful idiots fielded to protest immigration actions are being encouraged and financially rewarded to goad government agents into overreacting in such a way that it makes the news.
How to Prepare
The best way to avoid getting caught up in a protest, riot, or outright insurrection is to avoid places where one might occur. The second-best way is to leave the area if one breaks out. Both require situational awareness.
Look to the news media and social media to give you advanced warning of planned events and to avoid those areas. Leave the area if you see a sudden inflow of people with protest signs, wearing masks, or in tactical gear and carrying weapons. Don’t worry about which side is which, just get away from the area, whether it is a downtown street, a small business, or a shopping center. For example, if you are shopping in Walmart and ICE floods the store, abandon your cart and try to get to your car so you can leave the area. Stay in touch with other family members so they know you were not caught in a riot and to alert them to the potential problem. They may wish to leave work or pick kids up from school.
If you cannot escape large-scale civil unrest, then fortify your home and shelter in place. Your preps should allow you to lie low for days or weeks. Consider arming yourself to protect your home and family as anyone breaking in may intend to cause you harm or use you as a hostage. If there is gunfire, stay in the basement or a room without exterior walls.
Longer Term
If there is an insurrection or civil war, I expect most of the serious battles will be in the courts or political environments, not on the ground. However, if cities or states are occupied by federal officers and soldiers, my plan is to stay out of it and try to be bystander instead of an active participant.
In such a scenario, your best bet may be to live in an area where the majority of people share values and political views similar to yours. For example, I live in a red state in a county where a significant majority of people vote Republican, go to church, and share conservative values. If there were to be a protest here, I don’t expect it would attract more than a dozen folks, most of whom retired here from liberal enclaves in other states. Any insurrection in this county would be over relatively quickly.
However, if an insurrection or civil war limits travel, hurts commerce, or causes goods to cease flowing from ports in California to the East Coast, it will be good to be a prepper. I expect my supplies will last as long as any internal conflict, and our location will provide a buffer from any large-scale violence.
Plan now for what you would do if soldiers flooded the streets, declared martial law, and send people who objected to camps. While I don’t expect this to happen, it is better to be prepared and have a plan than to be caught off guard.
Video of the Day
I am reminded of the river crossing scene in The Outlaw Josey Wales where the ferryman would change his tune (literally the song he was singing) depending on whether his passengers were Union or Confederate. As non-participants in an insurrection, you may have to adopt a similar attitude.
