Labor Day represent a new low since this summers surge of coronavirus reports in the U.S., with only 25,167 new cases and 261 deaths reported. As we stated yesterday, expect a jump over the next few days as reports catch up after the holiday weekend.
Speaking of the long weekend, there seemed to be far fewer press reports and talking heads worrying about how Labor Day picnics and beach trips might lead to a surge in cases. We saw a great deal of hand-wringing over Labor Day and less over Independence Day, but this weekend such concerns were at a much lower volume.
There are now 27.36 million cases globally with a reported 893,219 deaths. Spain reported 26,000 cases over the weekend and is the first country within the EU to surpass 500,000 cases.
