Covid Could Be Surging in the U.S. Right Now

Because the CDC started relying on hospital admissions and ICU capacity to determine risk, there’s not as much testing for COVID going on. As a result, as the new variation hits places like Washington, D.C., (where the government still tests) cases could be surging elsewhere and we don’t know it.

Here’s my question: If people are asymptomatic and don’t even know they have it, why on earth would they get tested? We seem to be over the hump in terms of both danger and fear. It’s China’s turn to deal with a big outbreak; we’ll be just fine here.
